About William
Born in 1973 (you can do the math), I was brought up in the UK, educated in the British grammar school system and have a mechanical engineering degree from Surrey University. My wife and I moved to Canada in 1998 and we now have two Canadian children and four Canadian cats. I have worked in both the public and private sectors as a Senior Project Engineer and have NATO Secret security clearance. I enjoy outdoor pursuits such as kayaking, running and hiking and I was the head coach at the community soccer club for five years and a Scout leader for three years. I like to be early, have a keen eye for detail, am trustworthy, and dedicated to a fault. I have a strong belief in altruism, although my sense of humour may take a little getting used to, so I apologize in advance.

About Reliable House Sitting
Reliable House Sitting Ottawa is a full service, licenced and insured house sitting operation that was created by William to:
For good reasons, most insurance companies today require someone who is competent to visit a home frequently when it is left unoccupied for a specified amount of time.
It is unfortunate that the welcoming, carefree community environment in which many of us grew up as children has diminished to a large degree, and few of us know our neighbours as well as we'd like to. Furthermore, the media (whether social or otherwise) does not help by giving us almost instantaneous access to often sensationalized local and global news, and so our own personal level of comfort and security is compromised. And while we hope that one day we will return to a more tranquil, trustworthy and less inwardly focused society, we cannot escape the current climate in which we find ourselves.
Of course it's not all doom and gloom, but regardless, it's certainly nice to have peace of mind when you're away, safe in the knowledge that there is someone reliable taking care of things at home so that you don't have to worry. And regardless of your decision to choose a professional house sitter or not, make sure you check your home insurance policy, as there would be nothing more devastating than losing your home to fire while you're away and finding you're not covered.
If you think you would like to learn more about Reliable House Sitting Ottawa, please review our services, rates, and frequently asked questions. Then please get in touch if you would like further answers or to set up an introductory consultation.
